Okay, pseudo boyfriend jeans. I have this issue, where I can't find the perfect pair, as none of them seem to fit right! I always end up with something that is far too large, or too tight. And by too large, I don't mean the whole boyfriend wears these too large, I mean one size will fit like regular jeans, and the next size up will be falling off me. I can't seem to win, so compromise it is!
As you can see, this pair from the Gap are too tight in the hip, but they are looser in the thighs and legs (and super loose in the waist). Gap jeans do stretch as you wear them, so after about three hours of wearing these they were starting to look more boyfriend jean like.
I'm not much of a jeans person so I bought these and then pondered for half-an-hour on how to wear them. Heels were a must to dress them up, that much I knew, but I was at a lost on what to wear on top. I ended up choosing a super loose tank top and tucked it in on one side. An old knit kimono cardigan topped it off, so that I wouldn't feel so bare, as well as keeping me warm in the chillier mornings. I actually ended up liking the really relaxed fit of the tank tucked into the jeans, and it might be a new go-to for me.

I struggle with that sort of style as well, these look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Boyfriends jeans are really difficult to pull off and fit well if you ask me.
DeleteLove you heels!!! Super chic! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! They were the closes I could find to lace-up sandals ala Giuseppe Zanotti
DeleteI haven't found the perfect pair for me yet either - I've been wanting a pair but I have yet to buy a pair. These pseudo ones look great on you!

I tried on so many until I just gave up and went for something considerably more fitted. I guess that's why the Gap calls the "sexy" boyfriend jeans.
DeleteGreat outfit, darling! I loooove the bf jeans!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you thing about THIS beautiful cheap clothes?

Thanks! It was from one of those little boutiques in Montreal. love the city, you can find so many nice clothes there!
DeleteI have one pair of boyfriend jeans and I can't keep them on my butt. True. LOL Originally they were tight, but I did lose weight lately and now they are not nice to me. Your ensemble is great. Hi, nice to meet you (I think this is our first time) (hug)
ReplyDeleteThey're really tricky! Nothing seems to be perfect - they either fall off, or aren't loose enough. Have you tried running them through a warm wash? That might shrink them a bit.
