Leather, Lace and Leopard

Leather, lace and leopard – the golden triage or a recipe for disaster? Quite possibly both. This is definitely an edgier look compared to what I wear on a day-to-day basis, but it was the last day of school where I would see everyone, so time to get out of that comfort zone! Luckily, mixing these three textures and elements is easy to do it right, and it will make you look like a rockstar!

I've said it before and I'll say it again – animal print ought to be subtle. I don't need a leopard jumper like Kim Kardashian or a weird pimp coat for Halloween. Common, you wouldn't see a chic French woman in head to toe leopard, now would you? I like to place my leather details on my accessories, and since I'm still not a giant fan of the print, chances are, they're only going to be on a small section of my accessories. I'm in love with these Enzo Angiolini shoes. The leopard is only on the toe, making these about as subtle as they come.

A leather jacket is instant rockstar in my mind, especially when paired with more black and more zippers, as seen on these J Brand jeans. I added an ear cuff (is that what you would call this? I don't know.) to add to the rockstar feeling.

To balance the look, I added a lace peplum top. Between these and the heels, I feel far more in my own skin. No worn band tees and combat boots for me please.
